How do I know if I need treatment?

If you are having some difficulties in either your personal or professional life, then we can discuss this. We will conduct a thorough evaluation and work together to find the correct treatment options if any are needed.

What can I expect at the first appointment.

At your first appointment, I will conduct a thorough evaluation. This will include an extensive background history regarding your upbringing, family life, school history etc. We will also look at your current symptoms and relationships with the people around you. This usually takes between 1 and  1 1/2 hours.

Yes, we can provide you with an evaluation for bariatric surgery so that you can proceed with your surgery.

Will treatment interfere with my personal religious beliefs?

No, it will not. If your religion plays a significant role in your life then we will look at ways to incorporate and utilize your religious beliefs in your treatment plan.

Do you take insurance, and how does that work? 

To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them:

  • What are my mental health benefits?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
  • How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

We do participate with Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance company. Therefore, we would be an out-of-network provider with any insurance other than BCBS.  Payment is expected at the time of service. We will provide you with a receipt that you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement directly to you if you are out of network with BCBS.
